INGA SIMONIAN, PhD
I am founder and director of Conscious Connections Psychology Group, a holistic psychology group practice with offices in Burbank, Sherman Oaks, and Pasadena. We also provide telehealth sessions. The name for the company came to me in 2017 at a Mindfulness Conference at UCLA with Deepak Chopra, Dan Siegel, Kristin Neff and many others. I was pregnant at the time with my third child, a sweet and spiritually curious boy who was a big surprise in our lives. I was greatly inspired at this conference despite being in an uncertain period in my life, and I remember the name as well as the logo being downloaded into my mind's eye like the logo itself, a rooted tree with lights in place of leaves.
We offer a safe and loving container for our associates to learn from their clients, their supervisors, and most importantly from their own selves. The therapists that resonate with our team are naturally inclined to view and treat the whole person, family and community, and this holistic view gets tended to, honored, and expanded. With my training in psycho-analytic principles, and my studies in Jungian and alchemical studies, I direct the ship of my company to withstand and go beyond the unknown, to be intentionally unlearning, and to find the art in it all. Shadows are our friends, the dark is a beautiful, and light is reflected in the mirror, be it our associates light reflected back to them by their supervisors, or our clients' powers being enlightened.
Spirit Tree
(Pyrography and Oil Pastel on Wood, 13” x 11”)
Spirit Tree came to me in a dream 4 years ago. I was in a forest with my family, all five of us, and there were five trees with eyes. Each one of us had a personal tree that gave us strength and compassion. I faced my tree, and the eyes were staring at me with deep compassion. I got spooked from the eyes, and it gave me even more compassion for that spook. I felt loved and in awe and as if I was in a different universe. I also feel that was the spirit of our tree in our backyard which we fell in love with and bought the house because of the tree. This tree and this dream gave birth to my first song called Spirit Tree. I started this piece 4 years ago, and like many of my other works, the completion is not known and doesn't occur for a while. I am thankful to Mirrors of the Mind for the inspiration of the theme Rooted and Reaching that helped me finish this work.
