NILOOFAR OJANI, MA, APCC, ATR-P
Niloofar is an artist and art therapist whose creative journey began in childhood, when art became her earliest and most trusted form of expression. Long before words could hold her inner world, she used color, shape, and form to express what lived within. Today, her work explores themes of identity, emotional complexity, and healing through intuitive, process-based methods. Blending personal narrative with therapeutic insight, she creates pieces that honor both vulnerability and resilience. As an artist and clinician, Niloofar sees art as a bridge—between self and other, past and present, silence and voice.
Racing Thoughts (Process-oriented Art)
(11” x 14”)
Niloofar is an aspiring therapist whose artistic work illuminates the complexities of human experience while celebrating the power of authentic self-expression. She delves into femininity beyond societal constructs, navigating the tension between restraint and rebellion. To her, femininity is embodied in the breeze through wheat fields, the soil that nurtures wildflowers, the thunderous crash of waves, and the luminous dance of the sun, moon, and stars.
Her art also explores the cultural values passed down through generations of women, creating a living tapestry woven with their stories, where bodies and hearts align. As an heir to the dichotomy of "should" and "could," she navigates new understandings in her work.
At its heart, her art honors the quiet heroism of simply existing as a human, deeply connected to past/current lived experiences. While themes of complexity, self-realization, and tactile expressions are woven throughout, her work transcends political frameworks, celebrating the sacred, intuitive essence of internal and external existence. Racing Thoughts explores the transitory space between complex inner monologue and the outer world. It seeks to curiously discover the interconnectedness of the world while remaining halfway entrapped within its own boundaries.
