KRISTIN GORADIETSKY, PsyD

I am a postdoctoral associate working from a depth-oriented perspective. I did my pre-doctoral internship at The Jung Institute in San Francisco. I am fascinated by the unconscious and how it manifests in dreams, images, and symbols. I began creating collages several years ago after seeing magnificent microscopic images of neurons and cells in medical textbooks. My earlier collages consisted of fragments of microscopic images of cells and neurons. Currently, I use a variety of objects and images layered upon each other to create collages.

Wonder
(Paper on Canvas 16"x20")

This college consists of fragments of a variety of images including food, fabric, and feathers. I used fragments of images layered on top of one another to create a sense of mystery and curiosity. The ambiguous nature of some of the images may allow for elements in the observer’s unconscious to emerge.

I used fragments of images that are brightly colored, or rainbow colored in this collage because bright and rainbow colors are often associated with feelings of joy, optimism, and hope. My intention was to bring some joy into a world that is suffering.
